Today is Saturday and Day 2 of the Christmas Declutter.  This is going to be your biggest project of all the days – today we’re focusing on  holiday clothing. I’m talking about the dresses you wear to a party, those fun leggings or jammies, and even those fun socks.

Gather & Sort

Go into your closet, your drawers, or anywhere else you might store things and gather all the items into one area.

Sort through and get rid of the things that you won’t wear again.

  • Clothing that is too small
  • Items that are torn or stained
  • Styles you may love but don’t like how they look on you

Pack up the items you don’t want and take them to a local shelter or consignment store. Damaged and stained items should be tossed in the trash or given to a textile recycling plant.

Organize & Store

Fold and hang the items you plan to keep. I like to keep a section of my closet just for party dresses and special occasion outfits.  I place holiday items like leggings and special socks in a fabric bin on the top shelf of my closet.

Don’t forget to schedule a time to donate or consign your discarded items!

Final Thoughts

Tackling clothing can be difficult for many people.  If you start to feel overwhelmed, know that you’ve got two days to accomplish this one!

I’ll see you on Monday!
